1. Introduction

Welcome to ResumeStudio, a privacy-first resume creation and job application management platform. Our desktop application is designed with your privacy at the forefront, keeping your sensitive personal and career information under your control at all times.

By downloading, installing, or using our application, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please uninstall the application.

2. Privacy-First Philosophy

ResumeStudio is built on the fundamental principle that your resume data and job application information should remain private and under your control. Our desktop application:

  • Stores your data locally on your device by default
  • Does not require cloud storage or sharing of your personal information
  • Provides optional cloud backup with strong encryption for your convenience
  • Never sells or shares your personal information with third parties

3. Account Usage

The desktop application offers both guest and account modes:

Guest Mode

  • No account required
  • All data stored locally on your device
  • Limited access to AI features

Account Mode

  • Optional account creation for premium features
  • Enhanced AI capabilities for resume optimization
  • Optional secure cloud storage with end-to-end encryption
  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of ResumeStudio, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when creating resumes and job applications
  • Not use the application for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials if you choose to register
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer or modify the application

5. AI Features and Data Usage

ResumeStudio offers AI-powered resume optimization and job application assistance. When using these features:

  • AI processing occurs on our secure servers and may involve third-party AI providers such as Google, OpenAI, or others.
  • These third-party providers may store your queries for a period, typically up to 30 days, as per their respective data usage policies. We encourage you to review their policies.
  • We may also store your queries for up to 30 days for purposes such as service improvement, abuse monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Your data is used solely to provide the requested AI services. We do not use your data to train our own AI models without explicit consent.
  • If you do not agree with these terms regarding AI data usage, please do not use our AI-powered features.

6. Intellectual Property

ResumeStudio and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by ResumeStudio and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ResumeStudio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use or inability to use the application.

8. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the date at the top of these Terms and, where appropriate, notifying you on application startup.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, without respect to its conflict of laws principles.
